A property much altered over the years with a labyrinth of rooms and dated interiors. As well as general refurbishment, including provision of new bathrooms and a utility room, the client's brief was to create a large space where day to day family activities could take place. Existing rear extensions were demolished and the ground floor elevation completely removed. A full width extension was constructed in matching materials to give a large open plan area incorporating a large reception room. Period details such as Victorian cornicing and joinery have been maintained complimenting the extension and contemporary kitchen. The extension is flooded with natural light from roof lights and full height glazed folding doors. The extension opens onto a raised timber deck overlooking landscaped gardens.
